The municipal animal protection service of the El Puerto de Santa María City Council combines the collection of abandoned or lost animals within the municipality with their relocation through adoption if no one claims them within the legally established timeframe.
Althenia S.L., the service provider, has made available to the municipality facilities adapted for the care and protection of the animals, where they receive everything they need until they are placed with adoptive families.
Currently, the service has on-site veterinary services to ensure the fastest possible care and more direct and individualized monitoring of the health of the cats and dogs.
